Hello everyone, my name is Scott and I’m from England.
My hometown, Bracknell, is in the county of Berkshire, which can be found in the south east of England.
It’s not too far from London, only about 40 minutes by car, and I often take day trips there when I’m back home.
I have been living and teaching in Japan for some time now.
I really enjoy teaching and am constantly looking to learn and grow more as a teacher.
I really feel as though I have found the perfect profession for me in education.
I hope I can pass this enthusiasm and passion to my students and look forward to helping my learners improve and achieve their goals.
Reading books, Drawing, Traveling
Hello, my name is Sigita.
I come from Lithuania.
It’s a small country and I meet a lot of people who have never heard of it.
Therefore, the first question I usually get is - “Do you speak English in your country?”
Well no, we don’t.
My mother tongue is the beautiful and very old Lithuanian language.
I learnt English the same way my students are learning now - by feeling embarrassed at times, making mistakes and experiencing that awesome feeling when you realize you are able to express your thoughts in a different language.
I understand the struggles all too well, so my goal is to make my students fall in love with English, enjoy the process of learning and understand that every mistake they make is a learning opportunity.
Baking, Cooking, Reading, Bicycling
I'm from Portland, Oregon and just moved to Japan in August of 2013.
I am so glad to be here!
I love to cook and bake.
I enjoy learning how to make new foods and feel lucky that I have had the opportunity to learn how to make some Japanese foods.
I have a lot of fun teaching because I get to help people with their goal of learning English!
Playing the guitar and playing volleyball and baseball and swimming
I've taught at the YMCA for more than 10 years, playing many different games, singing many kinds of songs, and doing other activities with the students.
To keep the classes interesting for my students, I'm always trying to learn new games, even modifying when necessary.
Reading, writing poems and essays
It's my 16th year in Japan.
And, I would say that teaching English as a foreign language and seeing my pupils and students learn, are the most fruitful memories that I will always keep in my heart.
