Our carefully designed curriculum enables the children in YIK to learn through exposure, experience
and exploration. We follow the Christian faith and place emphasis on giving rather
than receiving and believing rather than doubting.

provide a solid foundation for our unique curriculum.

A home away from home

We are proud to provide a “home away from home”
for our students. The design of the
kindergarten and the choice of solid wood and natural materials, allow children to relax
and enjoy their surroundings as they are learn.
YIK students receive the lasting benefits of learning English through Zoo-phonics,
an internationally recognized, phonics-based language arts programme.

自然に英語を使う環境で生きた英語を学びます。
いろいろな文化を楽しむ中で豊かな国際感覚が育ちます。

Comprehensive Education

The YIK Comprehensive Education is not just about reading flashcards
but it is a “real” educational experience oriented towards language acquisition,
memory skills, problem solving ability, academic competences
and physical education, achieving a fine balance in the overall
development of young learners. Although these skills are intended for the future,
it is important that children start developing them as early as possible.
We value comprehensive education, balance
and “real” experience and we feel that our “Comprehensive Education” package will
help direct children towards a bright future.

トータル・エデュケーション（総合教育）

YIKのトータル・エデュケーション（総合教育）は、
フラッシュカードや詰め込みではない“ほんもの”を体験する教育です。
生涯に渡って必要な、言語能力、知的能力、記憶力、問題解決能力、身体能力などの
さまざまな能力をバランスよく引き出します。
それは将来の為であり、幼少期に体験する事が大切です。
“総合力”“バランス”“ほんもの”子どもたちの未来を見据えた、
“長期的視野に立った能力形成”を大切にしています。

Stimulating monthly themes

The children learn and explore through age-appropriate themes that change monthly.
Starting with the theme board on the classroom wall, themes extend into learning centre,
circle time, story time and field trips.

毎月のテーマは子どもたちの好奇心を刺激します

年齢に合わせた興味深いテーマを毎月設定し、五感を使うカリキュラム。
教室のテーマボードやLearning centre、Field trip（お出かけ）、Story time、
Circle timeなどのカリキュラムは、このテーマにそって工夫されています。

Individual care and specialized teachers

We have at least two qualified teachers in each classroom
and we maintain manageable class sizes in order to
provide each child with individual care and attention.
Art, swimming, gymnastics, calligraphy and music classes are
all taught by teachers who are specialists in their field.

Dynamic and personal small group activities

We provide both Dynamic activities and Station activities, both in small groups,
with focus on attention and care.
This is a weekly opportunity for the children to study a variety of subjects with visiting teachers.
Due to the small group sizes, all the children can enjoy the activities,
such as English reading and writing,
YOGA programs, calligraphy, guitar, rhythm play, motor skills programs,
all under the supervision and guidance of our specialized staff members.
Each element of the curriculum gives the children
the opportunity to grow as young and curious learners.

大人数でダイナミックに、少人数できめ細やかに

クラス全員で、ダイナミックに遊んだり、切磋琢磨する時間と、
少人数のグループ“ステーション”に分かれて、
英語を読んだり、書いたり、
モータースキル（巧緻性）を
高めるプログラムに取り組んだり、
ヨガ、書道、ギター、リズム&ストレッチなど、
きめ細やかな指導の時間のバランスの良さ。
それぞれのカリキュラムで適切な人数が設定してあるので、
子どもたちはのびのびと個性と能力を伸ばします。

The “House” System

Every child belongs to one of four “houses”: red, blue, green or yellow. Throughout the
year, members of the houses get together for lunches, birthday celebrations and other
special occasions. The houses are like big families. The older children take care of the
younger ones, who can learn from their older peers.
Children also gather in their respective houses
on special events such as Sports Day and Family Picnic, to enjoy a little friendly
competition and an extra feeling of belonging.

ハウスプログラム（縦割りグループ）

ハウス・デイ（縦割りグループで過ごす日）には、ハウス毎に
ランチをとったり、外遊びを一緒に楽しんだり、お誕生日の
お祝いをしたり・・・。ハウスのメンバーはYIKにおける家族です。
年上の子どもが、年下の子どもに思いやりを持って接し、
年下の子どもは年上の子どもの真似をし、憧れと尊敬の心を持つ。
異年齢での活動は、そんないろいろな気持ちを育みます。
