The importance of cultivating confident leaders of tomorrow is not limited to our International Kindergarten. In fact, it is this investment in our future that is the basis for all our programmes, especially of our Leadership Programme, a programme unique to YMCA. Several times during the year, graduates of YIK are given the opportunity to return to YMCA events as helpers, assisting teachers and supporting their younger peers. Who better to help teachers and children than those who have already experienced the events themselves. The Leadership programme begins with returning to familiar events such as Sports Day, YIK Family Picnic, YMCA Bazaar, etc. as helpers and assistants. Later on, these young leaders move on to being MCs on Sports Days, Owl Academy Speech Contest, Christmas Pageant etc. The older they get, the more responsibility they receive and the more they take ownership of the events. Thus, the next step is for the students to help with the organizing and planning of events. Finally, once students reach Junior High School, they are encouraged to become Junior YMCA Leaders and are, in fact, registered as International Youth Leaders in the International YMCA database. Overall, our Leadership programme teaches valuable skills that reiterate our faith in our students becoming future leaders of the world.

非営利団体であるYMCAの役割の一つは、世界に通じるリーダーを育てることです。
リーダーを育てる教育は、一人ひとりの子どもたちに「自信」の種をうえつける事です。
その種が太陽の光を浴び、栄養を取り入れ、将来リーダーとして花開くのです。
YIKの卒園生は、小学生リーダーとして、YIKのファミリーピクニックや運動会を運営します。
中学生になると、スピーチコンテスト・運動会の司会等も担当しています。
また、中学生リーダーは、世界YMCAの公式リーダーとして登録されます。
子どもたちが次世代を担う大切なリーダーとして花開く様、
YMCAでいろいろな経験を楽しみます。
